Digitalization is driving economic and social development; within the public sector, digital transformation and innovation stand as catalysts for reshaping governance and service delivery, the government therefore needs a framework to ensure a successful digital transformation, encompassing IT infrastructure, laws and professional development. The COVID-19 has showcased the value of IT and digital transformation and the need to accelerate the transition and made it evident that the digitalization of public administration requires the consolidation of all existing services, their improvement, strengthening efficiency as well as strengthening of coordination of service providers.

The National Agency for Digital Governance and Innovation (NADGI) is a government agency established in 2021 as driving force to Accelerate Government Digital Transformation in the Cameroon Public Sector, through advisory services and building human capital in government departments and agencies, to support them acquire the skills, knowledge and technical capability required to adopt digital technologies and innovation at all levels of governance from local, regional to national levels.
